Krijgt de kerstman de kadootjes op tijd geleverd?

Wat doe je als animator in de kerstvakantie? – Dan maak je een cartoon kerstanimatie met je hele gezin. En dat leverde in 2015 een vrolijk kerstverhaaltje op. Met het jaar wordt het schattiger nu de kids al maar groter worden.

Het Script

De kinderen gaven de ingrediënten en samen met mama Sas verwerkte ik dat tot een leuk kerstverhaaltje, op rijm. We hadden dit jaar voor het eerst in 38 jaar een volle maan, dus deze maan speelt een grote rol.

Illustraties en Audio

Zoe (5) en Tom (6) maakten de tekeningen met Wasco. Zoe deed de voice over en Tom de sound effects, alles met de iPhone. Ook Boo de poes deed mee. De audio werd nog nabewerkt in Adobe Audition.

De belletjes van de slee zijn bijvoorbeeld de rammelknuffels van Tom. Bij de allerlaatste geluidsopname kwamen we niet meer bij toen een onverwachtse scheet wel heel goed ‘viel’. Kun jij hem vinden?

Animatie

Ik scande alle tekeningen in en stopte ze in Adobe After Effects. Daarin zijn de scènes in elkaar gezet. Uiteindelijk is alles samengevoegd in Adobe Premiere Pro.

What do animators do during Christmas holidays? – They make a short Christmas cartoon animation with the whole family. Which resulted in a cheerful Christmas story in 2015.

The Script

Our kids provided the ingredients and together with mommy Sas we shaped them into a fun Christmas story, in rhyme. This Christmas saw the first fill moon in 38 years, so that played a prominent part.

Illustrations and Audio

Zoe (5) and Tom (6) did the drawings in crayon. Zoe did the voice over and Tom the sound effects, all on my iPhone. Boo the cat also joined in. The audio was pimped in Adobe Audition.

The sleigh bells, for example, is actually Tom shaking his collection of bears. The final audio recording had us in stitches when an unexpected fart actually ‘fell’ in exactly the right place. I dare you to find it?

Animation

The drawings were scanned and imported into Adobe After Effects. That’s where the scenes were put together. It all was edited in Adobe Premiere Pro.
